Matteo Totaro

Matteo Totaro
Matteo Totaro has been a city councilor since 2020 alongside Mayor Carlo Bottani, with important and sensitive powers: Sport, Civic and Demographic Services. An assignment that he has always lived with passion, seriousness and constant presence in the area.

His administrative action has stood out in particular in the field of sport, understood not only as physical activity, but as a real philosophy of life and a vehicle for personal and social growth, especially for the youngest.

Thanks to the trust of the Council, it has designed and promoted an annual call for the award of scholarships to deserving students/athletes, rewarding over five years as many as 50 children who have excelled both at school and in their respective sports disciplines. An initiative that testifies to the concrete attention to talent, commitment and merit.

Support for local sports clubs is also fundamental, through direct contributions to those realities that welcome young residents of Curtatone under 18, thus helping to make sports accessible and widespread.

Under his impetus, important events were born in the area: from the 1st Provincial Amateur Cycling Grand Prix in 2022, which became a national race in 2025, to the birth of the Battle Marathon, the first marathon in the history of the province of Mantua, now in its third edition. In 2023, the 10 km Provincial Criterium also took place, another significant stage in the promotion of local sport.

Investments in sports equipment are also important: in 2022 the fitness area in Montanara, in 2023 the construction of the 9-a-side synthetic grass field at the Boschetto Sports Center — interventions that enhance the territory and make it increasingly sports-friendly.

Determination, continuity and dedication have guided and continue to guide his work. Matteo Totaro is an administrator who believes in the value of sport as a tool for inclusion, education and well-being, and is committed every day to cultivate and spread this culture with energy and vision.
