Ponteventuno

A fraction between millenary history and legendary charm

Ponteventuno, known in Mantuan dialect as Puntvintün, is a suggestive hamlet of the Municipality of Curtatone, located in the province of Mantua. Surrounded by a quiet and rural atmosphere, Ponteventuno is a place full of historical charm and legends that are lost in time. The name itself contains a mystery: according to some theories, “Ponteventuno” derives from Ponte eventum Unni, suggesting an ancient link with the events of the 5th century, when Attila threatened Rome.

His identity is marked by a deep connection with the past: according to recent studies, the legendary meeting between Pope Leo I and Attila took place in 452, an event that - according to tradition - saved Rome from destruction thanks to divine intervention.
