SERVICES FOR THE ELDERLY AND DISABLED: ASSISTANCE AND SOLIDARITY

At the heart of our community, the City of Curtatone strives every day to ensure that the most fragile citizens, such as the elderly and people with disabilities, can continue to live with dignity, security and serenity. Services for the elderly and disabled are designed to meet daily needs, supporting families and offering concrete help at every stage of life.

Home Care Service (SAD): Support at home, where it's needed most
The home care service (SAD) is a fundamental resource for older and disabled people who need support in daily activities. The service can be easily activated through a simple request from the interested party or a family member, and is designed to better understand individual needs. During the cognitive interview, the social worker collects all the necessary information and, if necessary, also carries out a home visit to assess the person's needs more closely. The interventions are carried out by professional operators, such as OSS and ASA, who offer help in personal care and daily household activities, ensuring that the person feels supported and safe in their environment.

This service not only offers physical assistance, but also emotional support, making each person feel less alone and more integrated into the community. The service is designed to offer a first access in the morning, with the option of a second access in the afternoon for those who need extra help.

Remote rescue: A direct line of security
Remote assistance is another tool that helps ensure the safety of elderly or disabled people, with an annual agreement with the Mantua Green Cross. With an affordable cost of only 10 euros per month, without an ISEE application, remote assistance allows families to rest easy, knowing that their loved one always has help available in case of need.

Home Meals: A hot meal, every day
The home meal service, provided by the CIR FOOD Cooperative, allows the elderly and disabled to receive a hot meal every day, even on holidays. With a low cost of 6 euros per meal, this service offers essential nutritional support for those who do not have the opportunity to cook or do the shopping. It's a small gesture that makes a big difference, giving some peace of mind to those who live alone and need daily help.

Support for families for hospitalization in residential and day care facilities
When a stay at home is no longer possible, the City offers support to families for requesting hospitalizations in residential or day care facilities. In many cases, the social service can intervene to supplement part of the admission fee, thus lightening the economic burden on families and offering older people the opportunity to receive adequate care.

Each service is designed to be a real support for families, a help that not only relieves, but that restores dignity and well-being to those who, for reasons of age or disability, may feel fragile or marginalized. Because for the City of Curtatone, no one is ever left behind. Every citizen, big or small, old or young, must feel welcomed, protected and supported by their community. Together, we can make the lives of those who need it most a little lighter.
