In Montanara, Elisabetta Braguzzi is celebrated every year, a young girl from Roncoferraro and an innocent victim of World War II. Elisabetta died in 1944 as a result of an aerial strafing while on her way to the orphanage “Piccolo Rifugio dell’Incoronata” to take her middle school exams.
The ceremony, organized by Alfaomega OdV in collaboration with City of Curtatone, includes the laying of a laurel wreath at the memorial monument, a brief reconstruction of the events, and a moment of reflection.
The initiative also serves as an opportunity to reflect on all victims of violence, wars, and ongoing conflicts around the world, highlighting the essential value of Peace, Equality, and Respect for Human Rights, with a special thought for the youngest.
Every year, this commemoration renews the memory of Elisabetta and transforms the school into a place of teaching: a reminder to cherish life, freedom, and solidarity as universal values.
