The city of Curtatone enthusiastically welcomed the inauguration of the territorial headquarters of Universitas Mercatorum, the university of the Italian Chambers of Commerce. An important event, which marks the beginning of a new phase for training, innovation and local development.
As emphasized by the Mayor of Curtatone, Carlo Bottani, this new opening represents a great opportunity for the entire Mantuan territory: a meeting point between the productive and academic worlds, destined to promote the cultural, professional and economic growth of both young people and workers. An initiative made possible thanks to the synergy between public and private and the collaboration with the Mantua Chamber of Commerce.
The Scientific Director of Universitas Mercatorum and Pegaso Telematic University, Francesco Fimmanò, highlighted that the university is not just an exam venue, but a real competence center that offers 360-degree training: pre-university, university and post-graduate, designed in a targeted way to meet the needs of local businesses.
To strengthen this link with the productive world, Calogero Di Carlo, national head of the examination centers, also intervened, who defined Curtatone as “an effervescent territory”, capable of accommodating a dynamic and modern reality such as Universitas Mercatorum.
The importance of this new reality has also been emphasized by representatives of the business and institutional world. According to Guerrino Nicchio, CEO of Gamma, this is a training model that combines knowledge and concreteness, capable of communicating with the needs of daily work. Along the same lines, Vanni Zacchè of Weightpack, who reaffirmed the strategic value of a training center attentive to research and innovation, key elements for business competitiveness.
Support for the project also came from the insurance world, with the intervention of Francesco Vinaccia (Groupama Assurances), and from Irene Pivetti, former President of the Chamber of Deputies, who emphasized that the telematic university represents today a concrete answer to the needs of flexible, accessible and quality training, in step with the transformations of the world of work.
To close the event, the speech of the Councilor for the Economy of the Lombardy Region, Massimo Garavaglia, who reaffirmed the importance of rapid training in response to the needs of businesses, and of the Prefect of Mantua, Carla Cincarilli, who defined democratic access to education as a fundamental pillar for cohesion and social stability.
The inauguration of the headquarters of Universitas Mercatorum in Curtatone thus represents not only an investment in training, but also a strategic choice to enhance human capital and support the development of the territory.
