San Silvestro
San SilvestroBetween history, community and nature in the heart of Curtatone

San Silvestro is a charming hamlet of the Municipality of Curtatone, in the province of Mantua, located about 5 km from the historic center of the Virgilian city. This small village contains a deep historical and social soul: from its agricultural roots to its development as a residential area, San Silvestro has been able to maintain a strong identity, made up of values, hospitality and quality of life.

Already documented in 1575 as “San Silvestro extra Muros”, the hamlet extended to the walls of Renaissance Mantua. Here, among the fields and stately villas, an important part of local history has been written, with episodes also linked to the First Italian War of Independence.

The beautiful baroque church dedicated to Saint Silvestro Papa, built between 1754 and 1757, is today one of the symbols of the community. But what really makes this hamlet unique is the presence of the Casa del Sole, founded in 1966: an educational and rehabilitation center of national reference for children and young people with disabilities. A project born from the heart, which continues to represent the supportive and inclusive spirit of the territory.

Today, San Silvestro is a residential area surrounded by greenery, ideal for those looking for tranquility, contact with nature and human-friendly services, just a few minutes from the center of

Mantua.
