The Ancient Fair of Grace animated the village of Curtatone also in 2023, offering an unforgettable experience to residents and visitors. From 12 to 16 August, the event celebrated its rich history and vibrant traditions, culminating in the heart of the mid-August celebrations.
The protagonist of this edition was the 49th National Meeting of the Madonnari, which transformed the churchyard of the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin of Grace into an ephemeral open-air art gallery. Artists from everywhere have enchanted the public, creating breathtaking works with the sole use of chalk, an art that lives in the moment and fascinates with its transitory beauty.
The 2023 program offered an engaging mix of faith, culture and fun. Among the most anticipated events, the official inauguration kicked off days of celebration, followed by moments of deep devotion such as the traditional March of Graces. Congresses and meetings dedicated to Madonnara art have allowed us to deepen our knowledge of this unique discipline, while concerts and pyromusical shows have illuminated the evenings of the village, creating a magical and festive atmosphere.
Of course, there was no lack of opportunity to taste local gastronomic specialties, with the famous Cotechino delle Grazie De.Co. acting as the master, accompanied by Lambrusco Mantovano, while respecting tradition.
The 2023 edition of the Fair of Grace was able to combine the sacred and the profane, art and folklore, confirming its role as an unmissable event for anyone who wants to immerse themselves in authentic Mantuan traditions and experience a mid-August in the name of wonder.
