December is a month that brings with it the atmosphere of festivities, the lights that decorate the streets and the warmth of traditions. But it is also a time when traffic increases, roads become more crowded and the need to ensure safety becomes even more important. For this reason, the Municipality of Curtatone, together with other local authorities, has resolutely joined the “Safe December” project, an initiative funded by the Lombardy Region, which aims to strengthen land controls, especially in the evening and night hours.
Thanks to a contribution of 410,000 euros, the Region has supported the activation of extraordinary services involving the Local Police of Curtatone and other municipalities in Lombardy. The objective is clear: to intensify the presence of law enforcement agencies to ensure greater security for all citizens, reduce the number of road accidents and improve urban safety.
The City of Curtatone has responded with commitment to this call, revealing how important it is for our community to have safer streets, where every citizen can move with peace of mind. The evenings and nights of extraordinary checks saw local police officers at work, making sure that the streets of our country are safer for everyone, from pedestrians to motorists.
The project is also a concrete response to a problem concerning the safety of our roads, especially in a month when traffic is more intense, as the holidays approach. Romano La Russa, the Regional Security Councilor, emphasized the importance of these interventions: “We have allocated these additional resources precisely to ensure the safety of citizens. Our commitment goes beyond normal daily checks. In December, there are other evenings of extraordinary checks, because safety is a priority, and this is our way of responding to the needs of our community. “
The work done by the Curtatone Local Police had an immediate and tangible impact. Every patrol, every check has been designed and organized with the sole purpose of protecting the well-being of citizens. “Safe December” is not only an initiative that involves numbers and protocols, but it is above all a gesture of responsibility towards our territory, a response to that need for protection that we all feel every day.
In this month of December, Curtatone has proven to be united and strong in its will to guarantee peace of mind to anyone who lives or transits our municipality. Every step taken by the Local Police was a step towards tranquility, a step that led families, workers, and young people to face the festive season with greater serenity.
Ending the year with a safer community is the greatest gift we can give to ourselves and to our loved ones. And the December in Safety project is a tangible sign of how collaboration between citizens, institutions and law enforcement agencies can transform a holiday season into a real opportunity for protection and collective growth.
Thanks to the dedication and commitment of the Curtatone Local Police, the municipalities involved and the Lombardy Region, our December was safer, and this is only the beginning of a journey that, day after day, makes our community a better place to live.
