The result is the outcome of an extensive redevelopment project that includes the renovation of the building, the upgrading of the facilities, the adaptation of the storage areas, and the appointment of a museum management team that meets the standards set by regional regulations.
The plaque was awarded on December 2, 2025, as part of the regional initiative “RiconosciLO!” (Recognize it!), hosted at the MIC - Interactive Museum of Cinema in Milan, to which the Municipality was invited to participate together with the director of the Museum, Paola Artoni, and the head of the Municipality's culture department, Valentina Scipioni. During the award ceremony, the Lombardy Region's Councilor for Culture, Francesca Caruso, presented a plaque and a parchment certifying this important achievement.

The municipal administration emphasizes that this recognition represents the culmination of years of work dedicated to promoting the Museum of Madonnari, with the aim of making it the cultural center of the area and a point of reference for the village of Grazie, historically known as the “home of the madonnari.” The project is the result of collaboration between administrators, specialists in the field, and artists, who contribute to preserving and developing a heritage that is fundamental to the community's identity.

To mark the occasion, the museum is hosting an institutional event open to the public, with greetings from the authorities and the participation of madonnara artists. The event also includes the opening of a solo exhibition by master madonnara Simona Lanfredi Sofia, who has won several awards at the National Meeting of Madonnari in Grazie. Curated by the museum director, the exhibition presents significant works from the permanent collection, including original sketches created for the competition posters, as well as pastel paintings that the artist completes during open lessons and dedicated workshops.

The exhibition will be open from December 6, 2025, to February 1, 2026, expanding the museum's cultural offering and strengthening its role in the local art scene.
