Madonnari Museum

The Museum preserves the heritage of Madonnara art, an ephemeral art form that has found a home in the village of Grazie since 1973, the year of the first National Meeting of Madonnari. Since then, hundreds of artists have gathered every Assumption Day (Ferragosto) to paint on the square in front of the Marian Sanctuary.
The Museum houses and exhibits numerous works by Madonnari from around the world. The exhibition is organized along a thematic route that illustrates the artistic evolution of this ephemeral art: visitors move from the works of the early Madonnari, guardians of the ancient and simple street art styles, to contemporary experiments that focus on the technical skill and creativity of the artists.
