In the heart of Curtatone, the Museo dei Madonnari has always been a place of culture, tradition and creativity. A reference point that preserves the ephemeral art of the Madonnari, recounting their magic and talent. Today, this symbolic space is being renewed thanks to an important redevelopment, aimed at making the museum even more welcoming, modern and safe.
A museum that looks to the future, without forgetting its roots. In 2022, the City of Curtatone nominated the redevelopment project for the Historical Villages Call, obtaining a loan equal to 81% of the total investment of 260,000 euros, thanks to the contribution of the Lombardy Region. After months of work, in July 2024 the restyling was completed, giving the museum a new breath and an even more immersive experience for all visitors.
What has changed?
- New electrical and heating systems, to improve energy efficiency and room comfort.
- Summer air conditioning, to ensure a pleasant visit in every season.
- An advanced video surveillance and anti-intrusion system, to protect artistic heritage and ensure the security of spaces.
A renovated museum, but with the same soul. This intervention is not only a restructuring, but an investment in the culture and history of our territory. The Museo dei Madonnari will continue to be a place of inspiration and wonder, welcoming artists, visitors and enthusiasts in an even more usable and avant-garde environment.
Curtatone preserves his art, values it and projects it into tomorrow. A project that celebrates the past, improves the present and looks with enthusiasm to the future!
