THE GONFALON OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CURTATONE

THE GONFALON OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CURTATONE
A symbol of identity, history, and belonging, the gonfalon of the Municipality of Curtatone represents one of the most solemn emblems of the Curtatone community.

Granted by Decree of the President of the Republic on January 8, 1979, the gonfalon officially confirms the Municipality of Curtatone’s right to bear its civic coat of arms—already recognized in 1932—and to display it during public and institutional ceremonies.

The decree, issued on the proposal of the President of the Council of Ministers, describes the gonfalon as a blue banner richly adorned with silver embroidery, featuring the municipal coat of arms and the centered silver inscription: “Comune di Curtatone.” The metallic elements and cords are silvered, while the vertical pole is covered in blue velvet with silver nails arranged in a spiral pattern.

At the top of the staff, the municipal coat of arms is reproduced on the finial, with the name of the Municipality engraved on its shaft. Completing the gonfalon are a tricolor ribbon and bow in the national colors, fringed in silver—symbols of unity and belonging to the Italian Republic.

Today, the gonfalon accompanies the municipality’s main civic celebrations, commemorative ceremonies, and solemn public events, preserving the memory of the past while renewing the pride and sense of community of Curtatone’s citizens.
